Yamaha Golf Cart Solenoid

An Yamaha golf cart solenoid is part of a Yamaha golf cart's electrical system. The part acts like a switch between the cart's batteries and its controller to make the cart move. When you step on the accelerator pedal in your Yamaha golf cart, the solenoid receives a low current signal from the cart's battery. It then closes a set of "contacts" (or switches), which completes the circuit from the battery to the controller. This allows electricity to flow freely to the controller and motor, to power the cart forward. When you lift your foot off the pedal, the solenoid stops the electricity from flowing, stopping power to your controller and causing the cart to slow.
