Golf Cart Tie Rod
Golf Cart Tie Rod
A tie rod is a simple, but important component in your golf cart's steering system and is responsible for the safe steering of your golf cart. We carry only the best quality golf cart tie rod replacements on the market, for all golf cart types. Whether you need an EZGO Tie Rod, Club Car Tie Rod, or Yamaha Golf Cart Tie Rod - we have you covered!
Tie rod ends connect your golf cart's steering rack to the steering knuckle on each front wheel. When you turn your golf cart's steering wheel, the movement sends energy down your steering column and into your front end's steering components, where the energy eventually makes its way into the tie rods which then push on or pull on your cart's wheels, making them turn. Tie rods are a small, but critical part in your golf cart's steering mechanism, and therefore are important to your cart's safety.
If you suspect your tie rod is failing, it is time to replace both your tie rods on your cart (they tend to go out one after the other) to ensure the safe operation of your golf cart.
To check if your if the tie rods have gone bad, or are going bad, just jack up the front of your golf cart. You can check one side at a time, or jack up both if you would like. Once the wheels are off the ground, grab the sides of your wheel and tire assembly (at 9 and 3 o'clock position) and check for play by pushing and pulling each side of the wheel assembly back and forth, alternating sides. If there is any wiggle/play you will want to inspect your tie rod further by removing the lug nuts on your wheel and taking the wheel of your cart.
