Golf Cart Rear Seats
A golf cart rear seat gives any golf cart additional seating capacity, instantly taking your cart from two-passenger seats to four-passenger after installation. Golf cart rear seats replace the factory golf bag holders on your cart, and turn them into a rear-facing bench seat for additional passengers. Many golf cart rear seats also fold and allow you to haul extra cargo when the seats are not being used by other passengers. This type of rear golf cart seat is called a "flip seat kit".
Every golf cart rear seat kit we sell on our site is a Flip Seat / Flip-Flop Seat which means they have the ability to carry extra passengers, or to be folded down and used to haul cargo (anytime you're not transporting extra people). We carry only the highest quality, strength tested golf cart back seat offerings on the market. Watch the videos of flip seats in action on our YouTube!

Types of Golf Cart Rear Seat
When browsing, keep in mind, there are two major Seat kit types:
- Rear Flip Seat Kits: Commonly referred to as a "flip-flop" seat, this is the most popular type of golf cart rear seat due to its usability and versatility. The flip seat kit has the ability to function as a normal rear seat, allowing you to carry two extra passengers on your cart, and in seconds it can flip down to create a cargo bed for hauling anything and everything (coolers, firewood, etc.)
- Stationary Rear Seats: These seat kits are not sold as often anymore, because the prices of flip seats have come down to the same amount as stationary seats. Stationary rear golf cart seats are traditional (fixed position seats), just like the ones on the front of your cart. These seats allow you to carry extra passengers, but will not fold down for cargo hauling.
Golf Cart Rear Seat Quality Levels
There are three different levels of quality when it comes to golf cart rear seats: Economy, Premium and Deluxe:
- Economy Steel Frame w/ Steel Arms and Bed: These economy seat kits are cheaper, very popular basic options. They typically have a simple steel frame, a steel diamond plate cargo bed and footplate, and basic cushions that have marine-grade vinyl to protect against UV fading. Some higher level economy seat kits may come with longer lasting plastic beds and footplates. Economy seat kits may or may not include a rear-safety grab bar. Be sure to check for this when shopping for yours as it provides much needed comfort for your rear facing riders! These seats are typically between $375 and $475 in price. They can rust over time, due to their steel construction, but this mainly applies to coastal golf cart use.
- Premium Steel Frame w/ Poly Construction: These are typically a steel frame, over high quality and durable injection molded plastic skeleton. This thick polyethylene is incredibly strong, will not rust, and has a stylish look which includes additional functionality over economy seats; including built-in cupholders and hidden storage compartments. Cargo beds on these seat kits are made with the same durable plastic as the seat body. And these seats all typically include a large and sturdy rear-safety grab bar to keep your passengers secure while riding. These Premium seat kits are normally between $550 and $750 in price. A bit more expensive, but the body itself will never rust and they look amazing!
- Deluxe Aluminum Frame w/ Poly Construction: These seat kits look exactly like Premium seat kits, featuring the same polyethylene plastic body construction. The only difference is, they have an aluminum frame underneath instead of steel, which means along with the body of the seat, the frame itself will never rust either. They retail between $850 and $975, due to the more expensive aluminum frames.
Rear Seat Kit Installation
Rear seat kits are fairly easy to add to your cart. They take the average do-it-yourself customer roughly 2-4 hours to install. It is important to note, that the older your golf cart is it may take a little bit of "finesse" to get your seat kit lined up perfectly. But once installed, golf cart rear seats give your golf cart incredible utility to carry more passengers or haul more cargo.
Golf Cart Seats and What to Watch For
When shopping for a golf cart rear seat or front seat, watch out for companies who charge you extra for things like a rear safety grab bar.
