Because installing golf cart side steps usually only involves securing a couple set of U-Bolts (and no drilling), so it can be tackled with basic tools at home. Each set of side steps will be installed according to installation instructions that come from the manufacturer, but in general, to install golf cart side steps you will:
- Place U-Bolts: Grab the U-bolt sets included with your kit and place one over the frame rail and another over cross member of the frame
- Place Brackets: Each nerf bar kit will include brackets as well, place these under frame where instructed in your side-steps installation packet
- Loosely Tighten U-Bolts over Brackets: Guide the U-bolts through the brackets and loosely tighten with included hardware
- Fully tighten Brackets: Once aligned, secure brackets the rest of the way using a socket wrench
- Secure side steps: Hold the side step in place against the brackets, and use a socket wrench to tighten the included hardware and secure.
